Please bring a wrapped toy marked “boy” or “girl” and appropriate age.
Gifts should be new in package and wrapped, with a suggested minimum retail price of $10.00 per gift.
Raffle tickets can also be purchased for $10. For every toy you bring, get a raffle ticket to win really cool stuff. For every 5 toys you bring you get a bonus raffle ticket. Must be present to win!

Love. Sweetness. Light.
Vincent continues to be these things to us. Over the last year, we have had to adjust to many “firsts” without Vincent…Christmas, New Year’s, Vincent’s birthday and the first anniversary of his accident. Throughout all of this, we have relied on the unwavering support of family and friends. While each event brought a different mix of emotions-grief, sadness, hope - there was always overarching gratitude for the five years we had with Vincent. It is in the spirit of this gratitude that we reach out and ask our entire community to celebrate Vincent’s kindness and generosity by participating in the Vincent Babiarz Memorial Toy Drive on December 2, 2011 at Murphy's Bleachers.
There is a plaque at the entrance to Graceland Cemetery, Vincent’s final resting place that states: “Here lie the people who have writ the history of Chicago, large and small.” It brings great joy to know that in some tiny way, Vincent has helped to write the history of this great city. With the help of our community, Vincent’s legacy will live on. He will continue, in his characteristically small, gentle way, to write the history of Chicago.

Lakeview Pantry
We are pleased to partner with Lakeview Pantry and continue to provide much needed holiday cheer to those in need. We are the only group that provides holiday gifts to the Pantry, and the many families that frequent the Pantry during the holiday season look forward to unwrapping a bit of joy and generosity. Funds raised through our live auction will also benefit the many families of Lakeview Pantry by providing formula and baby needs for infants and those that can't adequately support themselves. We appreciate your generosity.

Coat Angels
For every coat we buy, a child will be warm this winter. For every coat we don't buy, a child will be cold. It's that simple. This year, we are pleased to partner with Coat Angels and provide a layer of warmth and protection to the young children who can't afford to purchase a coat on their own. Coat Angels works with teachers and social workers at schools in neighborhoods facing devastating poverty rates. They shop and deliver new coats, fleeces, hats and gloves to some of the neediest children in Chicago.

Vincent was always cold. He often crawled into bed with us in the middle of the night saying "Mommy, hug me. I like you. You're warm." Last winter, without Vincent, I thought about those nights many times, and took that memory as a calling to help keep other children warm.

Friends of Lakeview Pantry & Remembering Vincent
Friends of Lakeview Pantry is a volunteer group of local citizens, founded in 1998 by Su Bermingham and David Oliveira, who are committed to bringing a measure of joy and hope to children in the Lakeview neighborhood. What started as a small dinner party 13 years ago, has grown into a grass roots initiative to bring the joy of the holidays to families in need. We recognize that we are truly blessed individuals that have a responsibility for those not as fortunate. We are the only group donating toys to Lakeview Pantry during the holidays and we know the power of giving a Christmas gift to a family in need can greatly impact their lives.
Last year, we collected more than 600 gifts, and $7,000 for the families Lakeview Pantry serves. With your help, this year we hope to increase the number of gifts collected to 900 and to raise more than $10,000 for Lakeview Pantry. We are humbled and honored to continue our community efforts of the Lakeview Pantry Toy Drive in honor and memory of Vincent Babiarz. We recognize and support the Babiarz Family and continue to remember the sweet spirit and generosity of Vincent Babiarz through the donations of our supporters.
